Wedding Day Attire

A Misty & Balmy Late Summer’s Night, Resort Formal Celebration in the Garden Isle

In early September, Kaua’i evenings will greet us with warm breezes, the occasional light shower, and balmy tropical air. Join us for an outdoor celebration in Resort Formal attire. Think linen suits, breathable fabrics, flowy dresses, and footwear that can handle grass (or sand). It’s the kind of outfit that looks like it was made for somewhere with palm trees and a cocktail in hand. We can’t wait to see how the island’s otherworldly beauty inspires your look for our special day!

Ladies

Think mid to floor-length dresses, chic separates, elevated pantsuits and jumpsuits in flowing silhouettes and fabrics in vibrant and expressive summer hues. Opt for light fabrics, floating chiffons, and soft pleats, nothing that feels heavy or overthought. You can also lean into vibrant colors, playful prints, romantic ruffles, and shimmering details. Have fun with it and show off your summer tropical escape style!

Since we’ll be celebrating outdoors on grass, we advise against stiletto heels. Opt for a thick or block heel, or a wedge instead. Consider heel stoppers if you’re set on something slimmer.

Gentlemen

Pick out a lightweight suit in warm summer tones for a relaxed yet buttoned-up look. Go for breathable fabrics like linen, cotton, or blends that won’t have you sweating through the evening. Since we’ll be outdoors, opt for comfortable dress shoes or loafers. Lean into soft summer colors, muted moody tones, or smoky neutrals, and skip the black or heavy navy.

Traditional filipino pieces

Traditional Filipino pieces like the Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog are encouraged! Wear them as your full look, or mix them with contemporary pieces, like a bolero over your dress. For the Barong Tagalog, lean toward lighter pants rather than the classic black for a more relaxed celebration look.
