FAQS

We recognize that traveling to Hawai'i is a big ask, and we want to make sure you have everything you need should you choose to make the trip. Below is a long list of every question we could think of answering in regard to our wedding. If you still need help, our emails are listed at the bottom of this page.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by July 15! You can find the RSVP details here.

What will the weather be like in early September?

Expect warm, tropical weather with daytime highs in the mid-80s (29–30°C) and cooler evenings in the low 70s (21–22°C). Brief showers are possible on the North Shore but usually pass quickly.

What should we know about the Hanalei Bay?

Restaurants do close earlier than most places on the mainland. Reservations are encouraged.

What's the Dress Code?

Welcome Party (Friday 9/4): Summer Casual, Resort Chic

Wedding Day (Saturday 9/5): Resort Formal
Bright summer colors encouraged. Footwear suitable for grass is recommended. No denims, jeans, shorts please. See examples

Brunch (Sunday 9/6): Casual
Think soft linens, skirts, and sundresses. Nice but comfortable.

When should I get to the venue?

Our ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 PM, so please arrive early starting at 4:00 PM to make sure we're on schedule. During this time, you are encouraged to explore the garden, mingle, and grab a cocktail.

What's the best way to get to the hotel?

We highly recommend renting a car for your time on Kaua'i as transportation options on the island are limited, and Uber is available but unreliable, especially on the North Shore. Taxis and private car services work too, but require advance reservations. See more details here.

What's the parking situation?

Once you arrive at the venue, valet parking is available for $25 per vehicle per visit, plus 4.712% tax. Just let the valet know you're with our wedding!

How late does the celebration go?

As much as we'd love to keep the party going, our reception will wrap up by 10:00 PM in accordance with Kaua'i's noise ordinance.

Will the ceremony and reception be outside?

Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors, so please plan accordingly — comfortable shoes (that can handle grass or sand), sun protection for daytime, and a light layer for the evening breeze.

Will there be an open bar?

You bet! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you... We'll have an open bar throughout the celebration, from the welcome cocktails, through the post-ceremony cocktail hour, and all night at the reception. Cheers to that!

Are Keiki (kids) invited?

Of course! We couldn't imagine celebrating without them. Meals will be provided at the venue for all the little ones throughout the wedding day events. That said, if your child has specific food they prefer or need, please plan accordingly.

Are you offering babysitting?

If you need a sitter, please let us know as soon as possible. If you'd like a private sitter in your hotel room here's a recommended babysitting network: Details here

Are Pets allowed?

We wish, but no.

What should I do if I can't make it?

You will be missed! If you can't make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no," so we can plan accordingly.

Will there be vegan / vegetarian / gluten-free options?

Absolutely! Please be sure to note any dietary restrictions in your RSVP.

Who can I bring to the wedding?

Flying solo at a wedding is only fun if it's by choice, so we are prioritizing making space for your spouse, partner, or plus-one! This will be indicated on your invitation, and we ask that you only RSVP for the number of people specifically listed on the invitation. Please let us know if you plan on bringing your guests to the other wedding events.

Are you registered? Where?

Thanks for asking! Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for, and we truly mean that! Between the travel expenses, PTO, and days of your time dedicated to us, we are incredibly grateful and do not expect anything beyond that.

All the same, we know some folks show their love through gift giving, so we have a honeymoon fund. Honestly though, the only gift we truly want is to celebrate with you, however that looks for you.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We'd love for you to be fully present with us during the ceremony (our photographers will capture the moment!) but once the ceremony ends, feel free to snap away 📸

Do you have other events planned for us planning to be there earlier?

Yes! We are currently in the process of setting the schedule.

I still have questions, what's the best way to contact you?
